2006 BC Provincial Championships, Maple Ridge, March 25-26
Thanks to Lorraine & Bill for their help with scoring & the fencing,
Clive for scoring the shoot, and Rimon for being the range master, and to Ian
Soellner for running the fence. Final thanks go to the Maynard family for once
again hosting the ride event. We had a total of 10 riders this year (a couple
did their ride on the island).
The kids had a great time and were challenged with a cross country run on a very
scenic course (in the rain) by the river. We had a small group for the fence
(only 11) but it was a challenging event for all those who participated. Our
youngest fencer was Vlad Moldavanov (age 11) who seemed to be enjoying himself
immensely (we could see the grin through his mask!) This was his first fencing
match and he came away with 7V 24D.
Aggregate medals were awarded to Catherine Thwaites (Gold), Annie De Leenheer
(Silver) - Senior Girls and to Lesley Rietel (gold) UIPM.
