BC Athlete's Code of ConductTo
ensure fair play, mutual respect and sportsmanship which will protect all our
members and our reputation, the Canadian Modem Pentathlon Association, British
Columbia Section (BCMPA) has developed the following Code of Conduct.
This policy is to be observed by all members.
The policy will be in effect at all events BCMPA members attend. 1. Any member,
displaying unacceptable behaviour which violates the established harassment policies
of BCMPA or code of conduct at a competition (i.e. The B.C. Summer Games, JAAP
Meets, Clinics, CAMPA Nationals) will be prohibited from finishing the
competition, and can be sent home at his/her expense.
Any funding awarded for that event will be rescinded. Unacceptable behaviour
includes: Those
behaviours described in the BCMPA Harassment Policy. Committing
any act which would be considered an offence under Federal, Provincial or Local
Laws. Breaking
curfew and/or failure to show for an event. Cheating
or interfering with a fellow competitor's opportunities Unsportsmanlike
conduct. Disregard
for the IOC list of banned substances and methods. 2. Acceptable
behaviour and curfew for "end of competition celebrations" to be
mutually negotiated between athletes, chaperons, and coaches. 3. Any member guilty of
the above infractions will be barred from any further competitions for 12
months. 4. An Appeal may be made in writing to the AAP Committee within 14 days of the infraction should the member or his/her guardian feel he/she has been unfairly treated. The Appeal will be ruled on by the committee or executive within 7 days.
